This is a list of locality names and populated place names in the state of Victoria, Australia, outside the Melbourne metropolitan area. It is organised by region from the south-west of the state to the east and, for convenience, is sectioned by Local Government Area (LGA). Localities are bounded areas as recognised by the Registrar of Geographic Names acting under the Geographic Place Names Act (1998), although boundaries are the responsibility of each council.

Shire of Glenelg

The Glenelg Shire is a local government area in Victoria, Australia. It is located in the western part of the state. It includes the towns of Casterton, Heywood, Merino and Portland. It has an area of 6,213 square kilometres. Although the Shire existed before the amalgamations of mid-1990s, the current Shire (now referred to as 'Glenelg Shire' to bring clarity) was formed in 1994 from the merger of the former Glenelg with the Shire of Heywood and City of Portland.

County of Normanby

The County of Normanby is one of the 37 counties of Victoria which are part of the cadastral divisions of Australia, used for land titles. The county is in the Western District of Victoria bounded by the Glenelg River in the west and the Eumeralla River in the east, by a line through Casterton and Hamilton in the north, and by Bass Strait to the south. Larger towns include Hamilton, Portland and Heywood. The county was proclaimed in 1853.

Condah, Victoria

Condah is a small town in south west Victoria, Australia and is located on the Henty Highway north of Heywood. At the 2006 census, Condah and the surrounding area had a population of 272. Condah Post Office opened on 12 May 1868 and closed in 2001. Condah Pub has been open since 1854 and still thrives today.

Budj Bim

Budj Bim is the Gunditjmara name for the extinct volcano Mount Eccles in southwestern Victoria, Australia. The name means High Head. The eruptions of the volcano 20,000 to 30,000 years ago produced the Tyrendarra lava flow which flowed in a generally southerly direction into the ocean at Tyrendarra.
