Goomalling, Western Australia

Goomalling is a townsite in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia 45 kilometres north-north-east of Northam, Western Australia. The name Goomalling was first shown for a spring found by explorers Hillman & Lefroy in 1846. Hillman noted on his plan "rich grassy country" and squatters subsequently moved into the area. George Slater was the first in the Goomalling area, establishing a property around Goomalling Spring in the early 1850s.

The Shire of Goomalling is a local government area in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, about 240 kilometres northeast of Perth, the state capital. The Shire covers an area of 2,836 square kilometres and its seat of government is the town of Goomalling.

Grass Valley, Western Australia

Grass Valley is a small townsite 13 kilometres east of Northam, Western Australia in the Avon Valley area. The town is named after a local property of the same name that was established in 1833 by William Nairn. The Northam to Kalgoorlie Eastern Goldfields Railway line passes through the town and includes a crossing loop. The railway was built through the area in 1894. Land was set aside for a townsite in 1898 and the town was gazetted in the same year.
