Avondale Agricultural Research Station

Avondale Agriculture Research Station or Avondale Discovery Farm is one of thirteen research farms and stations operated by Western Australia's Department of Agriculture and Food. In addition to its research, Avondale has historical buildings, a farming equipment museum and operates as an agriculture education centre specialising in introducing primary school children to farming, and teaching of its history in Western Australia.

Dale River

Dale River was named after Robert Dale, the first European explorer to venture into the Darling Ranges in Western Australia in 1829. The Dale river is a tributary of the Avon River, it joins the Avon 10 km west of Beverley near the Avondale Agricultural Research Station. Tributaries of the Dale River include Dale River South, Gibb Gully, Connelly Gully, Sherlock Gully, Flint Gully and Talbot Brook.

Shire of Beverley

The Shire of Beverley is a local government area in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia about 130 kilometres southeast of Perth, the state capital. The Shire covers an area of 2,372 square kilometres, starting 20 kilometres outside Armadale in the Darling Scarp and extending eastwards beyond the scarp into agricultural lands which support broad acre activities such as livestock and cropping.
