Dalkeith, Western Australia

Dalkeith is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia in the City of Nedlands. The suburb is surrounded on three sides by the Swan River and is home to some of Perth's finest mansions. The suburb takes its name from a cottage built in 1833 by Captain Adam Armstrong and his sons, early settlers of the area that arrived aboard the ship the Gilmore. Armstrong, previously being the manager of the Earl of Dalkeith's estate in Scotland, named the cottage ‘Dalkeith Cottage’.

The City of Nedlands is a local government area in the inner western suburbs of the Western Australian capital city of Perth, about 7 kilometres west of Perth's central business district. The City covers an area of 20.0 square kilometres, maintains 137 km of roads and a little over 380 hectares of parks and gardens, and has a population of over 22,000 (2008).

Point Walter

Point Walter is a point in the Swan River, Western Australia. It is located on the southern shore and forms the western end of Melville Water. Point Walter is located in the suburb of Bicton and is on the opposite side of the river to the suburbs of Mosman Park, Peppermint Grove, and Dalkeith. Point Walter is notable for the sand bar that extends over 1 km into the river, sections of which often submerge under high water.

Claremont railway station, Perth

Claremont Station is a Transperth railway station 9.3 km from Perth station, in Western Australia, on the Fremantle Line. It is the westernmost station in Zone 1 on the Fremantle Line and is located approximately halfway between Perth and Fremantle. The disused signalling cabin at the station has been preserved as a museum and is open for viewing on the first Saturday of the month.
