Raimangal River

Raimangal River is a tidal estuarine river in and around the Sundarbans in North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal and Satkhira District in Bangladesh. The Ichamati breaks up into several distributaries below Hingalganj the chief of which are the Raimangal, Bidya, Jhilla, Kalindi and Jamuna. These fan out into wide estuaries in the Sundarbans. It forms the international boundary between India and Bangladesh for some distance.

Burigoalini

Burigoalini is a village in Bangladesh that is located on the northwestern fringe of the Sundarbans forest. The name “Burigoalini” is rather old and refers to a local woman who once had thriving fishponds, rice paddies, and pastures there for milk cows. Now, however, the land is covered with shrimp farms—basically flat water broken up by earthen embankments.
