Kampong Ayer

Kampong Ayer, or the Water Village is an area of Brunei's capital city Bandar Seri Begawan that is situated after the Brunei Bay. 39,000 people live in the Water Village. This represents roughly ten percent of the nation's total population. All of the Water Village buildings are constructed on stilts above the Brunei River.

Kianggeh, Brunei-Muara

Kianggeh is a mukim in the Brunei-Muara district of Brunei. It is located in the centre of the Brunei-Muara district, bordering Mukim Berakas 'A' and Mukim Berakas 'B' to the north, Mukim Kota Batu to the east and south, the water village mukims and Mukim Lumapas to the south, Mukim Kilanas to the south-west and Mukim Gadong 'B' to the west. Incidentally, it contains the country's capital, Bandar Seri Begawan.

Lapau

The Lapau is located in Bandar Seri Begawan, across the Royal Regalia Building and the Brunei History Centre. It is the ceremonial hall where the royal ceremonies of Brunei are traditionally held. In this place, beneath the interior's golden-domed ceiling, that the present Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, was crowned on 1 August 1968. Adjoining the Lapau is the old Dewan Majlis or Parliament House. A new and bigger Dewan Majlis has just been built.
