Ovcha kupel

Ovcha Kupel is a district located in the south-western parts of Sofia. As of 2006 it has 47,380 inhabitants. It is located at 6 km to the south-west of the City centre. The district is home of Slavia Sofia, one of the oldest football clubs in the country with a 30,000 stadium. The New Bulgarian University with more than 7,000 students is situated there. There are 9 schools and 5 chitalishta. Sheep fonts is one of the western suburbs of Sofia.

Krasna polyana

Krasna Polyana is a district in the western parts of Sofia. As of 2006 it has 65,442 inhabitants. It is one of 24 Sofia districts, is 3 km from central Sophia (map) and includes six neighbourhoods: "Ilinden"; "Zapaden park"; "Razsadnika"; "Krasna Polyana" 1, 2, 3. There are many green areas especially in the neighbourhood of "Zapaden Park" as the name suggests.

Lyulin Mountain

Lyulin (Bulgarian: Люлин or Люлин планина) is a range of hills in western Bulgaria, located several kilometres west of Sofia. The highest point is Dupevitsa Peak (1,256 m). The Buchino Pass divides the hills into two, a western and an eastern part. Bonsovi Polyani are a popular tourist attraction. On the slopes of Liulin are some of the most beautiful quarters of Sofia - Knyazhevo, Gorna Banya and Bankya, known with their mineral springs.

New Bulgarian University

New Bulgarian University (Bulgarian: Нов български университет, also known and abbreviated as НБУ, NBU) is a private university based in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. NBU is the first private university in Bulgaria and among the top rated by Bulgarian business universities in the country. As of 2004, the university had 7,551 current students and 3,201 graduates. The university's campus is in the Ovcha kupel municipality in western Sofia and consists of two main buildings.

Central and East European Center for Cognitive Science

The Central and East European Center for Cognitive Science (also as CEEC of Cognitive Science) at the New Bulgarian University undertakes research in fundamental and applied cognitive science. Research topics include: memory, thinking, language, learning, perception, context, applications to robotics, AI, and cognitive systems, cognitive economics, human factors and usability, education and learning methods.
