Vitinya Pass

Vitinya Pass is a mountain pass in the Balkan Mountains (Stara Planina) in Bulgaria. It connects Sofia and Botevgrad. The Hemus motorway passes it in a tunnel just below the summit. The motorway includes a notable girder bridge called the Bebresh Viaduct.

Arabakonak

Arabakonak or Botevgrad Pass is a mountain pass through the Balkan Mountains connecting Sofia with Botevgrad and Northern Bulgaria. It has been the site of several important events of the history of Bulgaria. On 22 September 1872, Dimitar Obshti carried out the robbery of an Ottoman postal convoy in the pass, an event that would lead to the capture and execution of Vasil Levski.

Gorna Malina

Gorna Malina is a village in western Bulgaria, part of Sofia Province. It is the administrative centre of Gorna Malina municipality, which lies in the central eastern part of Sofia Province, 20-30 kilometres east of Sofia. The village is located between the western Balkan Mountains to the north and the Sredna Gora range to the south.

Sofia Province

Sofia Province (Bulgarian: Софийска област, Sofiyska oblast) is a province of Bulgaria. The province does not include Sofia in its territories, but Sofia however remains its administrative center. The province borders on the provinces of Pernik, Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Lovech, Vratsa, Montana and "Sofia-Capital" (which is in a separate oblast, see Sofia Administration), to the northwest there is border with Serbia.
