Vardun
Vardun is a village in Targovishte Municipality, Targovishte Province, Bulgaria. Until the 1980s Vardun had over 300 Bulgarian dwellings and several gypsy’s dwellings, separated from the village towards Cherkovna. There were not at that time any Turks living in Vardun. Later on urbanization processes incited movements toward the chief Bulgarian towns. Gradually gypsies began to settle in Vardun and nowadays they form the majority of the population.

Dormition of the Theotokos Church, Targovishte
Dormition of the Theotokos Church (Bulgarian: Църква Св. Успение Богородично / Tsŭrkva Sv. Uspenie Bogorodichno) is an Eastern Orthodox church building in Targovishte. It is one of the finest examples of the middle and late Bulgarian National Revival church architecture. The building is situated in the Varosha Quarter - the old town in Targovishte. The church was built in the period 1847–1851 by Usta Dimitar from the Tryavna School.

Named after the Bulgarian poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev, the school is among the oldest ones in the town and province. It has 8 grades, separated in two educational levels. The first 3 grades are in the Primary level for children 7/8/9 years old. The next 5 grades are in the Secondary level for children aged 10–14.
