Whitemud River

The Whitemud River is a small highly meandering river in southwest Manitoba. It begins at the junction of Stony Creek and Boggy Creek in Neepawa and flows east to Arden, Gladstone, Westbourne and discharges into Lake Manitoba at Lynchs Point. Its total drainage area is about 2,500 square miles . Other major streams feeding the river include the Big Grass River, Pine Creek, Squirrel Creek, Westbourne Drain and Rat Creek. The precise origin of the name is not known.

MacGregor, Manitoba

MacGregor is a town in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It is located 130 km west of Winnipeg, and 90 km east of Brandon. It is a farming community, with the biggest industry in the area being agriculture. The town is surrounded by farms, and the Trans-Canada Highway is located just north of MacGregor. As of 2006, MacGregor had 397 private dwellings, a land area of 2.12 km and a population density of 433 persons per square kilometer.

CFRY

CFRY is a simulcasting radio station that broadcasts country music. Licensed to Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, the station serves the Central Plains region of Manitoba. The station is currently owned by Golden West Broadcasting, and are located at 350 River Road, along with CJPG-FM. It first began broadcasting in 1956 at 1570 kHz, before moving to its current dial position in 1966. An in-town repeater, CFRY-1-FM 93.1 MHz, was added in 1995.

Rural Municipality of Lakeview

Lakeview is a rural municipality located on the west shore of Lake Manitoba in Manitoba, Canada. The first immigrants to this area were from Iceland. Lakeview was incorporated as a Rural Municipality in 1920. The first Council included: Magnus Peterson, G.W. Langdon(Reeve), Jas. M. Birnie, John Arksey, Alf W. Law, George Hall, Earl E. Davidson. The largest community is the town of Langruth.
