Spencer's Island

Spencer's Island is a rural community in Cumberland County, Nova Scotia located at the western end of Greville Bay on the Bay of Fundy. The community is named after a small island {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:45|19|50|N|64|41|30|W|scale:25000 | |name= }} of the same name located offshore from nearby Cape Spencer. According to legend, the island, cape and community trace their name to a man named Spencer who is buried on the island.

Apple River, Nova Scotia

Apple River is a community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in Cumberland County. The community is located on two sides of the Apple River, a small river which widens dramatically to produce a large, shallow tidal harbour facing Chignecto Bay, an arm of the Bay of Fundy. The river and harbour are bordered by extensive tidal salt marshes, protected by Cape Capstan to the East and a long sand bar to the west.
