Stockholm, Saskatchewan

Stockholm is a community in the southeastern portion of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, located 70 km south of Yorkton along Highways 9 and 22. Stockholm is the seat of government for the rural municipality of Fertile Belt No. 183. Named after the capital of Sweden, the town was founded in the 1880s by Swedish settlers, and was incorporated on June 30, 1905.

Fertile Belt No. 183 is a rural municipality in Saskatchewan, Canada encompassing 1,006.68 square kilometers in area. The rural municipality maintains its office in Stockholm, Saskatchewan. The rural municipality in conjunction with the provincial government is in charge of maintenance of highways in its area. As well, the municipality provides policing, fire protection and municipal governance for the rural district, with a reeve as its administrator.

Round Lake (Saskatchewan)

Round Lake is the last part of a chain of eutrophic prairie lakes connected by the Qu'Appelle River in Saskatchewan, formed by glaciation, 10,000 years ago. The lake harbors recreational activities including camping, boating and fishing. Cabins can be rented or bought along the shores of the lake. Camping is provided at Bird's Point Resort.
