El Edén International Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional El Edén) is an international airport located in the Colombian Department of Quindío, in the town of La Tebaida It mainly serves the capital, Armenia. It handles all domestic flights to major airports of the country and some international destinations. The 1999 Coffee Axis, Colombia earthquake was an earthquake that heavily affected the city of Armenia, Colombia in the Quindío department, 18 towns and 28 villages in the Colombian Coffee-Growers Axis region departments, and to a lesser degree, the cities of Pereira and Manizales. The earthquake occurred on Monday, 25 January 1999 13:19 and had a magnitude of 6.2. The epicenter was 25 miles (40 km) west south west of Ibagué, Colombia.

Montenegro, Quindío
Montenegro is a municipality in the western part of the department of Quindío, Colombia. It is located 10 km west of the departmental capital Armenia. Montenegro was named for the dark green color of the trees that originally covered the hill above the current-day site of the township, which was visible from other parts of the region as it rose above the surrounding guadua forests. Between 1897 and 1904, Montenegro was officially known as Villa Quindío.
