Dražen Petrović

Dražen Petrović (October 22, 1964 – June 7, 1993) was a Yugoslav and Croatian professional basketball player. A shooting guard, he initially achieved success playing professional basketball in Europe in the 1980s before joining the American NBA in 1989. Petrović died in a car accident at the age of 28.

Podsljeme

Podsljeme is in the foothills of Zagreb's mountain Medvednica and its name means "under Sljeme" (Sljeme is the peak of the Medvednica mountain). It has the status of četvrt (quarter, neighbourhood) and as such has an elected council. The historic Medvedgrad castle is located in the district of Črnomerec, west of Podsljeme. Podsljeme had 17,744 residents in 2001. Its residents are mainly upper middle or upper class.

Mirogoj Cemetery

The Mirogoj Cemetery is a cemetery park that is considered to be among the more noteworthy landmarks in the City of Zagreb. The cemetery inters members of all religious groups: Catholic, Orthodox, Muslim, Jewish, Protestant, Latter Day Saints and irreligious graves can all be found. In the arcades are the last resting places of many famous Croatians.

Maksimir

Maksimir is one of the neighborhoods of Zagreb, Croatia. Maksimir stadium and Maksimir Park are located in it. It was named after the bishop Maksimilijan Vrhovac. The center of the Maksimir neighborhood is the Kvaternik Square, named after Eugen Kvaternik and frequently dubbed "Kvatrić". The square has recently been renovated and redesigned to alleviate major traffic congestion. The new square includes an underground parking garage.

Gornji Grad – Medveščak

Gornji Grad – Medveščak is one of the districts of Zagreb, Croatia; Gornji Grad translates as Upper Town. It is bordered by four other districts: Donji Grad in the south, Črnomerec in the west, Gornja Dubrava in the east and Podsljeme in the north. The district is located in the central part of the city and, according to the 2001 census, it has 36,384 inhabitants spread over 10.12 km, making it the sixth most densely inhabited Zagreb city district.
