Děčínský Sněžník

The Děčínský Sněžník is a mountain in the Czech Republic and, at 722.8 m above sea level, the highest peak in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. The Sněžník is located in the Jílové municipality, west of Děčín in the Ústí nad Labem Region, in the mountainous area of Bohemian Switzerland, close to the border with Germany. One of the first historical figures to visit Děčínský Sněžník was Emperor Joseph II of Habsburg, who climbed the peak in September 1779.

Zschirnsteine

The Zschirnsteine are two prominent table mountains near Kleingießhübel in the municipality of Reinhardtsdorf-Schöna, about 7 km south of the German resort of Bad Schandau in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. They lie west of the River Elbe and not far north of the Czech border. The 561 m high Großer Zschirnstein ("Great Zschirnstein") is the highest hill in Saxon Switzerland. The Kleiner Zschirnstein ("Little Zschirnstein") is also a sandstone table mountain.

Barbarine

The Barbarine is the best-known, free-standing rock formation in the German part of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. It is a rock pinnacle, 42.7 metres high, and is the symbol of Saxon Switzerland. It was first climbed on 19 September 1905 by mountaineers.
