Morávka Dam

Morávka Dam (Czech: Vodní nádrž Morávka) is a water reservoir and dam near Morávka, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. The dam is built on the Morávka River and has a surface of 0.795 km². It was constructed in 1961-1966. The dam is a popular spot for sport fishing and other recreational activities. The dam is also used to supply drinking water to nearby towns and to subdue floods on Morávka and Ostravice rivers.

Staré Hamry

Staré Hamry is a village in Frýdek-Místek District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. It has a population of 557 (2006). It is situated in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids mountain range, on the Ostravice River and the Šance Dam, forest covers 86% of village's area. Eastern part of the village lies in the historical region of Těšín Silesia. The village church has a monument on the outside of the cemetery wall commemorating the social poem Maryčka Magdónova, by Petr Bezruč.
