Porta coeli Convent

Porta coeli ("Heaven's Gate" in Latin) is a 13th-century convent (women monastery) located in Předklášteří, near Tišnov, South Moravian Region, Czech Republic, after which the asteroid 3276 Porta Coeli is named. Situated in the valley of the Svratka River, this Cistercian convent was founded in 1233 by Constance of Hungary, widow of King Otakar I. The church was consecrated in 1239 by Bernhard, Bishop of Prague with approval and at presence of Robert the Englishman, Bishop of Olomouc.

Brno Reservoir

The Brno Reservoir, previously known as the Kníničky Reservoir (Czech: Brněnská přehrada, also known as prigl in Hantec slang) is a dam on the Svratka River right outside the city of Brno, Czech Republic. The construction of a levee on the 56th river kilometre of the Svratka River, together with flooding of a valley with the Kníničky village in, created the Brno Reservoir.

Černá Hora (Blansko District)

See other places named Černá Hora. Černá Hora is a market town in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has around 1,900 inhabitants. Name of the place (literary black mountain) come from a hill whose vegetation is darker than the neighbourhood. Several trade paths crossed this place. First written mention about the location comes from 1279. Since 1390 it acquired township privileges. In Latin texts the place is called Nigromons or Czernahora in German texts Czernahora.
