Vizovice Highlands

The Vizovice Highlands (in Czech, Vizovická vrchovina) is an area of relatively modest but rugged highlands within the Zlin Region of the Czech Republic, named for the town of Vizovice. Geologically the highlands are part of the Slovak-Moravian Carpathians of the Outer Western Carpathians. The highest peak of the Vizovice Highlands is Klášťov, at 753 meters above sea level. The entire mountainous region covers an area of 1399 square kilometers, and has an average height of 339 meters.

Vizovice

Vizovice is a town with about 4,598 inhabitants in the Zlín Region, Czech Republic. The first recorded reference to the community was in 1261. Vizovice received town privileges in 1498. The annual Masters of Rock Heavy metal festival takes place in Vizovice. It is also home to famous Karel Singer's distillery, founded in 1812. Karel was the inventor of many liquors, such as apricot brandy, between others. The Vizovice Chateau is a major attraction.

White Carpathians

The White Carpathians is the westernmost mountain range of the Carpathian Mountains. They are part of the Slovak-Moravian Carpathians, stretching from the Váh river and the Little Carpathians in the south along the border between the Czech Republic and Slovakia to the Morava and the Javorníky range in the north. Zlín Region

Zlín Region is an administrative unit of the Czech Republic, located in the central-eastern part of the historical region of Moravia. It is named after its capital Zlín. It is also the only region of the Czech Republic which did not have any significant German-speaking enclaves or borderlands before 1945.
