Stade 24 Novembre

Stade 24 Novembre, formerly known as Stade Reine Astrid and today Stade Cardinal Malula, is a stadium located in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. It opened in 1937 and serves as the home of AS Dragons. It is currently named in honor of the date Mobutu Sese Seko seized power in the country in 1965. It was previously named after Astrid of Sweden and Joseph Malula.

Stade des Martyrs

Stade des Martyrs of Pentecost, also known as simply Stade des Martyrs and formerly known as Stade Kamanyola is a national stadium located in the town of Lingwala in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is mainly used for football matches and has organised many concerts and athletics competitions.

2011 United Nations Bombardier CRJ-100 crash

On 4 April 2011, a Georgian Airways Bombardier CRJ-100ER crashed while landing at N'djili Airport in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The aircraft broke up when it hit the runway at the airport as it attempted to land. There were 32 fatalities, with the sole survivor a Congolese journalist.

1996 Air Africa crash

The 1996 Air Africa crash occurred on 8 January 1996 when an overloaded Air Africa Antonov An-32B aircraft, wet leased from Moscow Airways and bound for Kahemba Airport, overshot the runway at N'Dolo Airport in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo after failing to take off. The aircraft ploughed into Kinshasa's Simbazikita street market, causing an estimated 300 fatalities (including two on board the aircraft) and 253 serious injuries.
