Ålsgårde

Ålsgårde is a settlement in Denmark, located on the northern coast side of Zealand, facing Øresund. It is part of the Helsingør municipality. Formerly Ålsgårde was a separate town, but today it has grown together with the neighbouring town of Hellebæk into an urban area with a population of 5,578 (1 January 2011).

Esrum Abbey

Esrum Abbey, also Esrom Abbey was the second Cistercian monastery founded in Denmark, located near Hillerød in Region Hovedstaden, on the island of Zealand (Sjælland), on the north side of the Esrum Sø (Lake Esrum) near Esbønderup and Græsted.

Hammermøllen

Hammermøllen was a set of water mills at Hellebæk in Denmark, used to power the Kronborg weapons factory. The first mill on the site was built in 1576, but it was only linked to weapons production from 1601, when the gun foundry was built nearby. It then produced weapons until 1870, peaking in the 1700s, when the factory employed 200 men and produced 6000 guns a year.

Gurre Castle

Gurre Castle was a royal castle in North Zealand in Denmark which lies on the outskirts of Helsingør towards the town of Tikøb on the lake at Gurre (Gurre Sø). The castle, now a ruin, was built in the 12th century and added 4 towers and a perimeter wall in the 1350s; it was excavated in the 19th century (from 1835) and is now restored. It is first mentioned in court chronicles in 1364, when Pope Urban V sent a gift of relics to its chapel.
