Hirschholm Palace

Hirschholm Palace, also known as Hørsholm Palace, was a royal palace located in present-day Hørsholm municipality just north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It was rebuilt in the Baroque style in the 1740s and, one of the finest buildings of its time, it became known as the "Versailles of the North". It developed a notorious reputation in connection with its role in the affair between Johann Friedrich Struensee and Queen Caroline Mathilda in the 1770s.

Hørsholm Municipality

Hørsholm Kommune is a municipality in the Copenhagen Capital Region in the northern part of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 31 km², and has a total population of 24,197 (2008). Its mayor as of 2010 is Morten Slotved, a member of the Conservative People's Party (Det Konservative Folkeparti) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Hørsholm.

Rudersdal Municipality

Rudersdal Kommune is a municipality in Region Hovedstaden in Denmark. It is situated approximately 20 kilometers north of Copenhagen. It covers an area of 73 km² and in 2008 a total population of 53,869. The Rudersdal Commune building, formerly known as Søllerød Town Hall, completed in 1942, was designed by Arne Jacobsen and Flemming Lassen.

Birkerød

Birkerød is a town and was a municipality in Frederiksborg County on the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 34 km², and had a total population of 21,930 (2005).

Birkerød station

Birkerød station is the railway station in Birkerød north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is served by S-trains on the Hillerød radial. The railway station was built in 1864 and the first S-trains were used in 1968. When built, the railroad station was situated a bit outside Birkerød. The reason for this was that it had to be situated on a hill to make it easier to get the trains started again after stopping. But today, Birkerød has grown a lot, so it is now located in the centre of the city.
