SM U-20 (Germany)

SM U-20 was a German Type U 19 U-boat built for service in the Kaiserliche Marine. She was launched on 18 December 1912, and commissioned on 5 August 1913. During World War I, she took part in operations around the British Isles. The U-20 became infamous following her sinking of the British ocean liner RMS Lusitania on 7 May 1915, an act that dramatically reshaped the course of World War I.

Russian frigate Alexander Nevsky

Alexander Nevsky (Russian: Александр Невский, also transliterated as Alexander Nevski or Alexander Neuski), named after the famous Russian historical figure, was a large screw frigate of the Russian Imperial Navy. The ship was designed as part of a challenge being offered by the Russian Empire to the Royal Navy, but was lost in a shipwreck in 1868 while Grand Duke Alexei, son of Tsar Alexander II, was aboard.

Lemvig Museum

The Lemvig Museum is a local museum in Lemvig, Denmark. It has a number of exhibits about local points of interest, most notably the wreck of the Russian warship Alexander Neuski in 1868, which is the subject of a major multimedia exhibition. Also featured as part of the museum is the "Planetary Path," a trail which features a model of the solar system at a 1 to 1 billion scale.

Thyborøn

Thyborøn is a fishing village in Jutland, Denmark with a population of 2,241 (1 January 2011), primarily famous for being the site of numerous shipwrecks, such as that of the Imperial Russian naval vessel Alexander Neuski. It is located in Region Midtjylland in Lemvig Municipality.

Lemvig Municipality

Lemvig is a municipality in Region Midtjylland on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in west Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 510 km², and has a population of 22,067 (2008). Its mayor is Erik Flyvholm, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Lemvig. The town has a population of 7,282.
