Rønnede

Rønnede was a municipality in the former Storstrøm County in south Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 125 km², and had a total population of 7,289 (2005). Its last mayor was Kurt Rosner, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and site of its municipal council was the town of Rønnede with a population of 2,453 (1 January 2012) Neighboring municipalities were Fakse and Vallø to the east, Køge to the north, and Haslev, Holmegaard, and Fladså to the west.

Faxe Municipality

Faxe municipality is a municipality (Danish, kommune in Denmark in Region Sjælland on the island of Zealand. The municipality covers an area of 406 km² and has a population of 35,418 . Its mayor as of 2010 is Knud Erik Hansen, a member of the Social Democrats political party. As of 1 January 2007 Faxe municipality, as the result of Kommunalreformen, came into existence as a municipality by merging the three former municipalities of Haslev, Fakse, and Rønnede.

2011 Præstø Fjord dragon boat accident

The 2011 Præstø Fjord dragon boat accident was an incident that occurred on February 11, 2011 north of Præstø, Denmmark. The incident involved 13 students and two teachers from Lundby Efterskole - a local continuation high school. The boat capsized due to the wind. This incident killed one of the teachers and injured most of the student leaving several of them in permanent care. The body of the teacher, who was not wearing a lifejacket, was found on the third of April.
