Karanis

Karanis, located in modern Kom Aushim, was an agricultural town in Graeco-Roman Egypt, located in the northeast corner of the Fayum. Fayoum University (FU) is a public university located in the Egyptian city of Al Fayoum in northern Egypt. From 1976 to 2005, Fayoum University was a public institution within the University of Cairo.
