Aven Armand

Aven Armand is a cave located in the Cévennes National Park, in the Lozère département, between Meyrueis and Sainte-Enimie. Discovered in 1897 and open to the public since 1927, it is one of the most visited places in that area. Caves such as this are found in many Limestone areas, such as the White Scar Caves near Skipton in Yorkshire.

Causses

The Causses are a group of limestone plateaus (700–1,200 m) in the Massif Central. They are bordered to the north-west by the Limousin and the Périgord uplands, and to the east by the Aubrac and the Cévennes. Large river gorges cut through the plateaus, such as the Tarn, Dourbie, Jonte, Lot and Aveyron. Causse is an Occitan word meaning "limestone plateau".

Château de Peyrelade

The Château de Peyrelade is a ruined castle in the commune of Rivière-sur-Tarn in the Aveyron département of France. The name is derived from the occitan "Pèira Lada", meaning wide rock; an accurate description of the site. Objects found on the site suggest it was inhabited in prehistoric times. Thanks to its position controlling the entrance to the Gorges du Tarn, it was one of the most important castles in the Rouergue province.
