Battle of Tornow
The Battle of Tornow was part of the Seven Years War and was fought between the forces of Prussia and Sweden on 26 September 1758. The Prussians sent 6,000 men, led by general Wedel to protect Berlin. Wedel attacked aggressively and let his cavalry attack a Swedish force of some 600 men at Tornow. The Swedes were fighting bravely, and fought off six assaults, but the majority of the Swedish cavalry was lost, and the Swedish infantry had to retreat before the stronger Prussian forces.

Stechlin-Ruppiner Land Nature Park is a nature park and reserve in the state of Brandenburg, Germany. It covers an area of 1,080 km². It was established on July 1, 2001. It includes Lake Stechlin, home to the endemic Stechlin cisco.

Lake Stechlin
Großer Stechlinsee or Lake Stechlin is a lake in Landkreis Oberhavel, Brandenburg, Germany. At an elevation of 60 m, its surface area is 4.52 km². The Stechlin cisco, a dwarfed fish, is found only in this lake. Theodor Fontane's last novel, Der Stechlin, was set in its vicinity. Stechlinsee has a maximun depth of 69.5 metres, making it one of the deepest lakes in the State of Brandenburg. It is also one of the clearest with a visual depth of up to 11 metres (average 6 metres).

Uckermark concentration camp
The Uckermark concentration camp was a small German concentration camp for girls near the Ravensbrück concentration camp in Fürstenberg/Havel, Germany and then an "emergency" extermination camp. The camp was opened in May 1942 as a detention camp for girls, aged 16 to 21, who were considered criminal or difficult. Girls who reached the upper age limit were transferred to the Ravensbrück women's camp. Camp administration was provided by the Ravensbrück camp.
