Botanischer Garten Marburg

The Botanischer Garten Marburg (20 hectares), also known as the Neuer Botanischer Garten Marburg, is a botanical garden maintained by the University of Marburg, located on Karl-von-Frisch-Straße, Marburg, Hesse, Germany, and open daily. An admission fee is charged. The garden was created between 1961-1977 to replace the Alter Botanischer Garten Marburg, dating from 1810.

Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology

The Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology is a research institute for microbiology in Marburg, Germany. It was founded in 1991 and is one of 80 institutes in the Max Planck Society (Max Planck Gesellschaft). Its sister institute is the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology, which was founded a year later in 1992 in Bremen.

Information Centre for Foreign Language Research

The Information Centre for Foreign Language Research (German: Informationszentrum für Fremdsprachenforschung, IFS), an institute of the Philipps University of Marburg, has existed since 1969. Its main purpose is the collection and description of literature and research projects on foreign language research and teaching. With this focus as regards content the IFS is unique in Germany. Since 1998 Frank G. Königs has been the Head of the Information Centre for Foreign Language Research.
