The Lutter is a small river in the Lüneburg Heath, Lower Saxony, Germany, right tributary of the Lachte. It has its source near Weyhausen, 7 km southeast of Unterlüß. It passes Bargfeld (where it is joined by the "Schmalwasser"), Eldingen, and Luttern. It flows into the river Lachte at Jarnsen, near Lachendorf, east of Celle.

Eschede train disaster
The Eschede train disaster was the world's deadliest high-speed train accident. It occurred on 3 June 1998, near the village of Eschede in the Celle district of Lower Saxony, Germany. The toll of 101 people dead and 88 (estimated) injured surpassed the 1971 Dahlerau train disaster as the deadliest accident in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany. It was caused by a single fatigue crack in one wheel which, when it finally failed, caused the train to derail at a switch.

Bargfeld
Bargfeld is a hamlet of about 190 inhabitants near Celle in Lower Saxony, Germany, documented since 1056, now belonging to the village municipality Eldingen. It has become famous for the many novels and stories the great German author Arno Schmidt has situated there, having lived there from 1958 until his death (1979). The Arno Schmidt Stiftung has its site in Bargfeld.
