Kösterbeck (nature reserve)
Kösterbeck is a nature reserve in the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, which was established in 1986. Its territory was expanded in 1990 and reduced on 13 June 1995. It derives its name from a stream flowing from east to west through the area, also called the Kösterbeck, a tributary of the Warnow.

Rostock Switzerland
Rostock Switzerland is a terminal moraine landscape and part of the Kösterbeck Nature Reserve. It lies southeast of the German city of Rostock in the district of the same name. The majority of it is in the municipality of Roggentin. For a region so near the coast, it is very hilly, hence the name Rostock Switzerland. The Kösterbeck is a small river, that runs through a deep incision that emphasises the height differences.

Its name comes from "continent" and the name of the former Danish power transmission company "Elkraft", which operated the power grid on the Danish islands Lolland, Falster and Zealand and had the abbreviation "ek". As of today, the cable is operated by Energinet. dk in Denmark and 50Hertz Transmission GmbH in Germany.
