Westerholt Power Station

Westerholt Power Station was a coal fired power station in Gelsenkirchen-Westerholt, Germany. The power plant consisted of two units built in the 1960s, each capable of producing 150 MW of electricity. Its smokestack, built in 1981, was over 300 metres (1000 feet) tall, making it Germany's tallest chimney at the time. The power station was decommissioned on May 13, 2005. The chimney was demolished on Sunday, December 3, 2006, at 10:53 a.m.

Parkstadion

Parkstadion was a multi-purpose stadium in Gelsenkirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, that is no longer used to host any major events. The stadium was built in 1973 and hosted five matches of the 1974 FIFA World Cup. It had a capacity of 62,109 with seats for 45,067. Michael Jackson performed at the stadium during his Bad World Tour on September 4, 1988 & during his HIStory World Tour on June 15, 1997.

Cranger Kirmes

The Cranger Kirmes is a fair in Germany, located in Wanne-Eickel in the city of Herne. It is the biggest fair in the whole state of Northrhine-Westphalia and the second biggest fair in Germany, only behind the Oktoberfest. In 2008 there were 4.7 million visitors. At an area of only 110,000 m² it is also called the "most overcrowded fair of the world".
