Cologne (region)

Cologne is one of the five governmental districts of the German Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is located in the south-west of that state and covers the hills of the Eifel as well as the Bergisches Land. It was created in 1815, when Prussia reorganised its internal administration. In 1972 the Regierungsbezirk Aachen was incorporated.

Brühl train disaster

The Brühl train disaster happened on 6 February 2000 in the Brühl, Germany, railway station on the West Rhine railway. A train negotiated a low speed turnout at three times the correct speed and derailed, killing 9 people. At the time of the accident, the Brühl railway station was a minor station on the double-tracked West Rhine railway line with one passing siding each on both sides of the through tracks.

Augustusburg and Falkenlust Palaces, Brühl

The Augustusburg and Falkenlust palaces is a historical building complex in Brühl, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, which have been listed as a UNESCO cultural World Heritage Site since 1984. They are connected by the spacious gardens and trees of the Schlosspark. Augustusburg Palace and its parks also serve as a venue for the Brühl Palace Concerts. The Max Ernst Museum is located nearby.

St. George's School, Cologne

St. George’s School is a state-approved, international school located in Cologne, Germany. Founded in 1985, St George's is a private school and teaches the English National Curriculum (in form of the GCSE or IGCSE at Key Stage 4) and the GCE Advanced Level or IB Diploma Programme after Key Stage 4.
