The Rahden-Diepenau Geest is a natural region in the extreme northeast of North Rhine-Westphalia and in the neighbouring state of Lower Saxony in north Germany. It includes the overwhelmingly gently rolling geest between the Lübbecker Lößland to the south, the Diepholz Moor Depression to the north, the Middle Weser Valley to the east and the western Wiehen Hills and Bersenbrück Land to the west.

The Große Aue (in its upper reaches known as the Aue and then also the Neuer Mühlenbach or Mühlbach) is an 84.5 kilometres long, southwestern, left tributary of the River Weser in northern North Rhine-Westphalia and central Lower Saxony in Germany.

Oppenwehe Moor

The Oppenwehe Moor is a raised bog in the natural region of Diepholz Moor Depression (Diepholzer Moorniederung) in North Germany. It covers a total area of around 700 ha and lies in the northeastern part of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia as well as in Lower Saxony. It is one of the most important bogs in Northwest Germany and is one of the ten most important wet meadow reserves in North Rhine-Westphalia. It is part of the Dümmer Nature Park.

Westphalian Mill Route

The Westphalian Mill Route is a circular, long-distance, cycle route in the German district of Minden-Lübbecke and its neighbouring areas in North Rhine-Westphalia. The route is laid out in such a way as to take in 43 historic mills along a circular route of about 320 kilometres. Running along largely quiet country roads, the Westphalian Mill Route takes cyclists through a cultural landscape dominated by the Wiehen and Weser Hills, the North German Plain and the River Weser.
