Xanten Cathedral

Xanten Cathedral, sometimes called St. Victor's Cathedral (German: St. Viktor Dom), is a Roman Catholic church situated in Xanten, a historic town in the lower Rhine area, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is considered the biggest cathedral between Cologne and the sea. In 1936 it was declared a minor basilica by Pope Pius XI. Even though the church is called a cathedral it has never been the seat of a bishop.

SNR-300

The Fast Breeder nuclear reactor SNR-300 was built near the town of Kalkar, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It was completed but never taken online. SNR-300 was to output 327 megawatts. The project cost about 7 billion Deutsche Mark (about 3.5 billion euros or over 4 billion USD). Klaus Traube, then director of the executing company Interatom, is today one of the most prominent German opponents of the usage of nuclear power.

Wesel transmitter

The FM and TV-mast Wesel is a 320.8 metre tall guyed steel framework radio mast of the Deutsche Telekom AG at Wesel-Büderich, Germany. FM and TV-mast Wesel was built in 1968 and is used for FM- and TV transmission. FM and TV-mast Wesel is the second tallest structure in Northrhine-Westphalia. Before the construction of the chimney of Power Station Westerholt, it was the tallest structure of Northrhine-Westfalia. It reclaimed this title after the chimney's demolition on November 12th, 2006.
