Heikant, Groesbeek

Heikant is a former hamlet in the municipality of Groesbeek, in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It was located about 3 km northeast of Groesbeek, on the German border. According to the 19th century historian A.J. van der Aa, Heikant (or "De Heikant") consisted of 44 houses and had a population of 140 in the middle of the 19th century.

Leuth, Netherlands

Leuth is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Ubbergen, about 10 km east of Nijmegen. Leuth was founded on a sandbank in the floodplain marshes north of the Waal (river). The earliest mention of the settlement, named Lotde, dates back to 891 and 892. The village belonged until 1815 to Prussia; Leuth was a separate municipality until about 1814.

Duchy of Cleves

The Duchy of Cleves was a State of the Holy Roman Empire. It was situated in the northern Rhineland on both sides of the Lower Rhine, around its capital Cleves and the town of Wesel, bordering the lands of the Prince-Bishopric of Münster in the east and the Duchy of Brabant in the west. Its history is closely related to that of its southern neighbours: the Duchies of Jülich and Berg, as well as Guelders and the Westphalian county of Mark.
