Ruwer (Verbandsgemeinde)

Ruwer is a Verbandsgemeinde with 18,014 inhabitants (Dez. 2008) on the river Ruwer near Trier in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is famous for the wine from the wine-growing region Mosel, which previously was called Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, and which was founded by the Romans. The administrative seat (formerly located in Ruwer, which was an independent municipality until it was incorporated into the city Trier) is located in Waldrach since November 2005.

Fell Exhibition Slate Mine

The Fell Exhibition Slate Mine is a former slate mine in Germany located about 20 km east from Trier and about 60 km east of Luxembourg (city) near the villages Fell and Thomm. The exhibition mine can be visited every day from April to October. The Exhibition Mine consists of two typical roof slate mines from the early 20th century, situated one above the other, a slate mining trail and a small mining museum.

University of Trier

The University of Trier, in the German city of Trier, was founded in 1473. Closed in 1798 by order of the then French administration in Trier, the university was re-established in 1970 after a hiatus of some 172 years. The new university campus is located on top of the Tarforst heights, an urban district on the outskirts of the city. The university has six faculties with around 470 faculty members.

Tarforst is a suburban part of the city Trier in Germany with about 7,000 inhabitants. The University of Trier is situated in the suburb. The Romans settled in Tarforst 2,000 years ago. The village became a part of Trier in 1969.

Ruwer/Eitelsbach

Ruwer/Eitelsbach is a quarter of Trier, Germany. Eitelsbach was a small village at the Ruwer (river) in Germany's Mosel region and famous for the wine estate Karthäuserhof and the associated vineyard Karthäuserhofberg, which means "Carthusians' Hill". The wines are labeled "Eitelsbacher Karthäuserhofberger. " Eitelsbach and Ruwer were added to Trier in 1969. They formed the Trier district of Ruwer/Eitelsbach in 1974.
