Ferropolis

Ferropolis, "the city of iron" is an open museum of old huge industrial machines in Gräfenhainichen, a city near Dessau, Germany. It's an open air museum which contains machines from the mid-twentieth century. They can measure to 30 meters high, 120 meters long and weigh up to 1980 tons. Moreover, the area is used for several events like opera or music festivals like the Melt! festival or the "Ferropolis in Flammen" ("Ferropolis in flames").

Wörlitzer Winkel was a Verwaltungsgemeinschaft ("collective municipality") in the Wittenberg district, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It was situated on the left bank of the Elbe, east of Dessau. The seat of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft was in Oranienbaum. It was disbanded in January 2011.

Muldestausee-Schmerzbach

Muldestausee-Schmerzbach was a Verwaltungsgemeinschaft ("collective municipality") in the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It was situated on the right bank of the Mulde, east of Bitterfeld. It was named after the reservoir in the river Mulde in its territory. The seat of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft was in Schlaitz. It was disbanded on 1 January 2010.

Wörlitz Synagogue

The Wörlitz Synagogue is a synagogue built in 1790 by order of Duke Leopold III of Anhalt-Dessau. It is located within the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Realm, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. The duke, a follower of the Enlightenment, had the synagogue built as an expression of his tolerance policy but also as an ornament for his gardens. The prior synagogue was torn down in the course of embellishing Wörlitz.
