Langeneß Wadden Sea Station

The Langeneß Wadden Sea Station is an information centre on the island of Langeneß in the German Wadden Sea. It is located in the biosphere reserve of the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea and Halligen. Since the station at Langeneß was founded, the house has been run by the Wadden Sea Conservation Station (Schutzstation Wattenmeer) and the World Wide Fund for Nature.

Hainshallig

Hainshallig (also spelled Hayenshallig) was a small Hallig in the North Frisian Wadden Sea, located east of the Hallig of Hooge, that was flooded and sank in 1860. At the time, Hainshallig was leased to a Hooge resident as part of a leasehold estate and was used for the production of hay. A levee may have once led from Hooge to Hainshallig.

Halligen

The Halligen (singular Hallig) are ten small German islands without protective dikes in the North Frisian Islands on Schleswig-Holstein's Wadden Sea-North Sea coast in the district of Nordfriesland. The name comes from a Celtic word hal, meaning "salt", a reference to the low-lying land in the region which is often flooded over with saltwater by the tides. A greater number of Halligen existed in the Middle Ages than in the 21st century.

Museum Kunst der Westküste

The Museum Kunst der Westküste (West Coast Art Museum) is a non-profit foundation, located in Alkersum on the north Frisian island Föhr. The museum collects, researches, communicates and exhibits art that deals with the themes of sea and coast. The point of departure is formed by the paintings collection of the museum’s founder, Prof. h.c. Frederik Paulsen.

Norderoog

Norderoog is one of the ten German halligen islands of the North Frisian Islands in the Wadden Sea, which is part of the North Sea off the coast of Germany. A part of Hooge municipality, the island belongs to the Nordfriesland district. It is only temporarily inhabited by a bird warden from March to October. The refuge hut at the northeastern end is called Jens Wand Hütte, which is built on stilts to protect it from flooding. A former terp had been washed away.
