Wagria

Wagria (German: Wagrien, Waierland or Wagerland) is the northeastern part of Holstein in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein, corresponding roughly to the districts of Plön and Ostholstein. The word "Wagria" is derived from the Slavic Lechites tribe of Wagri, which meant "those who live by the bays".

Lebrade Pond Bird Sanctuary

The Lebrade Pond Bird Sanctuary (German: Vogelfreistätte Lebrader Teich) is a nature reserve in the north German state of Schleswig-Holstein, that lies within the district of Plön, about 7 kilometres north of the town of Plön. The reserve is part of the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park and covers an area of about 144 hectares . It has been designated as a Special Area of Conservation as well as a Natura 2000 region It has a length of 1.7 kilometres and a width of about one kilometre.

Plön (district)

Plön is a district in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is bounded by (from the east and clockwise) the districts of Ostholstein and Segeberg, the city of Neumünster, the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, the city of Kiel and the Baltic Sea.

Holstein Switzerland

Holstein Switzerland is a hilly area with a patchwork of lakes and forest in Schleswig Holstein, Germany, reminiscent of Swiss landscape. Its highest point is the Bungsberg (168 metres above sea level). It is a designated nature park as well as an important tourist destination in Northern Germany situated between the cities of Kiel and Lübeck.

Behler See

The Behler See is a lake in the Holstein Switzerland region of North Germany. It lies between Timmdorf to the east and the town of Plön to the west. To the east it transitions into the Langensee, to the west into the Höftsee. All these lakes are crossed from east to west by the River Schwentine. The Behler See is named after the village of Behl in the municipality of Grebin, which lies to the north.
