1978 Thessaloniki earthquake
The Great Thessaloniki Earthquake (Greek: Μεγάλος Σεισμός της Θεσσαλονίκης) was an earthquake that occurred on 20 June 1978, at 22:03 local time, and registered 6.6 on the moment magnitude scale. It was felt throughout northern Greece, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria. It was the largest seismic activity in the area since 1932.

Lachanas Military Museum
The Lachanas Military Museum (Greek: Στρατιωτικό Μουσείο Λαχανά) is a Military museum near Thessaloniki, Greece, dedicated to the Battle of Kilkis-Lahanas. Lake Koroneia
Lake Koroneia is a lake in the heart of the Thessaloniki regional unit in the Mygdonian basin in Greece. The lake is also known as Agios Vasileios after an homonymous village and as Lake Langada. It is located about 12 kilometres east of downtown Thessaloniki. The motorway Egnatia Odos passes along the north side of the lake, and the old Greek National Road 2 passes along the south side. The municipalities with shores on the lake are Koroneia, Langadas, and Egnatia.

Lake Volvi
Lake Volvi is located in the root of the Chalkidiki peninsula, in the Thessaloniki regional unit, Greece. Lake Volvi is the second largest lake in Greece. It is about 12 miles in length, and 6 or 8 miles (or km) wide. The area is 68 km² and the depth is 20 m. It is located east of Lake Koronia (Lake Lagkada). The new Via Egnatia highway runs along the northern shore of the lake and the old road runs to the south.
