Arda (Maritsa)

The Arda is a 290 km long river in Bulgaria and Greece. It is a tributary of the Maritsa. Its source lies in the Bulgarian Rhodope Mountains near the village Arda, part of the municipality of Smolyan. It flows eastward past Rudozem, Kardzhali and Ivaylovgrad and enters Greece in the northern part of the Evros regional unit. It flows into the Maritsa on the border of Greece and Turkey, between the Greek village Kastanies and the Turkish city Edirne.

Trakya University

Trakya University, aka University of Thrace, established on July 20, 1982, is a state university located in Edirne, at Turkey's European part Eastern Thrace. Trakya University is a regional university with institutions and schools spread over the Thrace region.

Bayezid II Külliye Health Museum

Beyazid II Külliye Health Museum is in Edirne, Turkey. A külliye is an Ottoman architectural concept that designates a complex of buildings centered around a mosque and Bayezid II Külliye was built in 1488 by the Ottoman sultan Bayezid II (reigned 1481–1512). The complex contains a darüşşifa (hospital, medical center) and it remained in operation for four hundred years as of 1488 until the Russo-Turkish War (1877-1878).

Edirne Synagogue

Edirne Synagogue, is an abandoned synagogue located in Maarif Cd, 10 in Edirne, Turkey. The synagogue was built in 1907 by the architectural model of Leopoldstädter Tempel in Vienna. The synagogue was in use until 1983 and could accommodate 1,200 worshipers, 900 men and 300 women.
