Lake Tsongmo

Tsongmo Lake or Changu Lake is a glacial lake in the East Sikkim, India, some 40 kilometres away from Gangtok at altitude of 3,780 m . The road to Nathu La passes the lake on north side. The Chinese border crossing is only some 5 kilometres east-northeast in a straight line, but some 18 kilometres by road. Indian Postal Service released a commemorative stamp on the lake on 6 November 2006.

Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan

The Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan is the central bank of Bhutan and is a member of the Asian Clearing Union. It is also the minting authority for the Bhutanese ngultrum. The Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan was established under the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan Act of 1982. Subsequently, the Act of 1982 was amended by the Financial Institutions Act of 1992 and replaced in its entirety by the Royal Monetary Authority Act of 2010.

Chumbi Valley

Chumbi Valley is a valley in Tibet at the intersection of India, Bhutan and China in the Himalayas. Two main passes between India and China open up here: the Nathu La Pass and Jelep La Pass. The valley is at an altitude of 3,000 metres (9,500 feet) and was at the forefront of the British military expedition of 1904 into Tibet. It was occupied by the British for nine months after the hostilities to secure Tibetan payment of indemnity. The valley blooms in spring. It enjoys a temperate climate.

Nathu La

Nathu La is a mountain pass in the Himalayas. It connects the Indian state of Sikkim with China's Tibet Autonomous Region. The pass, at 4,310 m above mean sea level, forms a part of an offshoot of the ancient Silk Road. Nathu means "listening ears" and La means "pass" in Tibetan. On the Indian side, the pass is 54 km east of Gangtok, the capital of Indian state of Sikkim on JN Marg and only citizens of India can visit the pass, that too after obtaining a permit in Gangtok.

Lake Menmecho

Menmecho Lake is a mountain lake located in East Sikkim district in the state of Sikkim, India. It lies on the way to the Jelepla Pass and is situated at a distance of 20 kilometres ahead of the Tsongmo Lake. It is the source of the river Rangpo chu, a tributary of the River Teesta. The waters of the lake are sourced by melting snow in summer, and the monsoons in the rainly season. The lake is famous for its trout, and has a large fishfarm nearby with a guesthouse.
