Mandapam Camp

Mandapam camp was built in the early 1900s by the British Government to house migrant plantation workers coming to India from Sri Lanka. The Camp is located in South India, 700 km South of Chennai (formerly known as Madras), the capital of the state of Tamil Nadu. In the late 1970s the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (also known as the Tamil Tigers) began an armed conflict with the Sri Lankan government. The clash peaked in the early 1980s and erupted into a full scale civil war in 1983.

Pamban Bridge

The Pamban Bridge is a cantilever bridge on the Palk Strait connects Rameswaram on Pamban Island to mainland India. It refers to both the road bridge and the cantilever railway bridge, though primarily it means the latter. It was India's first sea bridge. It is the second longest sea bridge in India at a length of about 2.3 km.

Pamban

Pamban is a town in the Rameswaram taluk of Ramanathapuram district, Tamil Nadu. It is located at the western edge of Pamban Island and is a popular fishing port. The town gives its name to the whole island. Pamban railway station is the first station on the island for pilgrims travelling to Rameswaram.

Enathi

Enathi is a village located 5 km away from Mudukulathur town, in Ramanathapuram district on the way to Mudukulathur via Sayalkudi. There are four ponds and two kanmai in this village, which is used for agriculture. It has the famous temples like Boongulam,Ancheneya,Kali and some vinayagar and Ayyanar temples around this village. Boongulam situated into a small forest, festival is celebrated every year in the Tamil month of Massi. Only one bank is here-Primary Agriculture Cooperative Bank(PACB).
