Astana Giribangun
Astana Giribangun, (also "Giri Bangun"), is a mausoleum complex for the Suharto family of former President of the Republic of Indonesia. It is located in Karang Bangun, Kecamatan Matesih, Kabupaten Karanganyar, Central Java province on the slopes of the Mount Lawu mountain complex approximately 35 kilometres to the east of the city of Solo. 2009 Indonesian Air Force C-130H Hercules crash
The 2009 C-130H Hercules crash was an aircraft accident in Indonesia on May 20, 2009. The Indonesian Air Force C-130 Hercules airplane was carrying 112 people (98 passengers and 14 crew) and crashed at about 6:30 local time, while flying from Jakarta to eastern Java. The crash resulted in at least 98 deaths, 2 of which occurred on impact when the plane ploughed through a neighborhood, striking at least four houses before skidding into a paddy, in the village of Geplak.
