Pemalang Regency

Pemalang is a regency in north coast of Central Java province in Indonesia. Its capital is Pemalang. Like the larger cities of Tegal, to its west, and Pekalongan, to the east, Pemalang was dominated in the nineteenth century by sugar production. Petarukan train collision

The Petarukan train collision occurred on 2 October 2010, at Petarukan, in Pemalang Regency of Central Java, Indonesia, when two high speed intercity trains collided with each other. Thirty-six people died as a result of the accident, and 50 people were reported injured.
