Interesting facts about this location

Baharestan

Baharestan is the name given to the historic Iranian parliament building, inaugurated in 1906. It was adopted from the name of the neighborhood and a small palace that adorned the place. The Baharestan remained the location for the lower chamber of the Iranian Parliament (the Senate had moved to a new building in central Tehran) until the Iranian Revolution (1979).

University of Isfahan (UI) is a state-operated university in Iran. It is one of the most prominent science and engineering schools in Iran and is the largest university in Isfahan Province in Iran. The university is located in the southern section of the city of Isfahan. University of Isfahan is located in Azadi square of Isfahan, in the middle of the city has another campus in Khansar. University of Isfahan offers undergraduate degrees in 70 fields and graduate degrees in 55 areas.

New Julfa

New Julfa is the Armenian quarter of Isfahan, Iran, located along the south bank of the river Zayandeh River. In 1606 it was established as an Armenian quarter by edict of Shah Abbas I, the influential shah from the Safavid dynasty. Over 150,000 Armenians were moved there from Julfa (also known as Jugha or Djugha) in Nakhichevan.

Shahrestan bridge

Shahrestan bridge This is the oldest bridge on Zayandeh Rud. The foundations are from the 3rd to 7th century Sasanid era, but the top was renovated by the 10th century Deylamids and finally during the 11th century Seljuk period. However the architectural style is totally Sasanid. The bridge was built in two parabolic shapes. The vertical parabolic component means that the middle point of the bridge is the highest part.
