Karaftu

The Cave of Karaftu is situated 64 km from Seqiz (and 12 km from the village of Kereftu). Strategically, this site connects the ancient road from Syria and Iraq, leading through Iran to Afghanistan, i.e. it is on the Silk Road. Throughout history, and yet till today, many caravans have passed through this road, endowing particular importance to this region.

Ziwiyeh

The castle at Ziwiyeh which has been ruined through digging for archaeological purposes, was an ancient and strong building situated on the top of a mount above the wide Ziwiyeh Cave, Iran. It is located in an altitude of 1,835 m above sea level in Kurdistan province of Iran on the south of Lake Urmia. Artefacts found there belong to the 9th century BC (belonging to Medes era) and have been kept in some museums.

Ziwiye hoard

The Ziwiye hoard is a treasure hoard containing gold, silver, and ivory objects, also including a few Luristan pieces, that was uncovered on the south shore of Lake Urmia in Ziwiyeh, Kurdistan Province, Iran, in 1947. These objects provide a link between the cultures of the Iranian plateau and the Scythian art forms known as the "animal style".
