Ballynacally

Ballynacally (Irish: Baile na Caillí, meaning "town of the veil") is a village situated 16 km south west of Ennis, on the R473 coast road to Kilrush in County Clare, Ireland. Ballynacally is generally translated as Baile na Cailleadh, meaning "the nun's land", because it belonged to the nuns of Killone Convent Ballynacally. It is home to many historical structures and monuments. Both St. Brendan and St. Senan visited the area and founded churches on the islands.

Canon Island Abbey

Canon Island Abbey is a ruined Augustinian monastery located on the extreme northeast corner of Canon Island on the River Shannon in County Clare, Ireland. The abbey was founded in 1189 under the sponsorship of Donal Mór Ua Briain (Donald O'Brien), the king of Thomond. The ruins include a rectangular church measuring 26 metres long and 7 metres wide. Two chapels are accessible via the north wall. The kitchen and refectory are situated to the south of the cloister.

River Fergus

The River Fergus is a river in County Clare, Ireland. It rises in Loughnagowan which lies a few kilometers west of Corofin and flows into the Shannon Estuary. It is noted for its trout and salmon fishing. Trummer is an island in the river. There are six bridges crossing it in Ennis alone.
