Sheikh Bureik, Lajjun
Sheikh Bureik, also called Sheikh Abreik or Sheikh Ibreik', was a Palestinian Arab village located 10 miles southeast of Haifa. Situated at an ancient site that shows evidence of habitation as early as the Iron Age, it was an important center of Jewish learning in the 2nd century, with habitation continuing during the Byzantine era, Islamic era, and the Crusades. The village appears under the name Sheikh Bureik in 16th century Ottoman archives.

Oranim Academic College
Oranim is a teacher training college in northern Israel. The college was founded in 1951 by the United Kibbutz Movement. It was named after the small forest of pine trees in the area. It trains kindergarten, elementary and upper school teachers and offers BA, BSc, BEd and MEd qualifications.

Ramat David Airbase
Ramat David Israeli Air Force Base is one of three principal airbases of the Israeli Air Force, located southeast of Haifa, close to kibbutz Ramat David and Megiddo in the Jezreel Valley.
