Pentedattilo is a ghost town in Calabria, southern Italy, administratively a frazione of Melito di Porto Salvo. Until 1811, before the unification of Italy, it was a separate commune. Pellaro is the southernmost quarter of the commune of Reggio Calabria, southern Italy. It has approximately 13,000 inhabitants. The town is located on the 38° latitude, which is shared by the cities of Seoul, Athens, San Francisco and Córdoba. A monument was erected in 1987 to indicate this.

Punta di Pellaro
Punta di Pellaro is the extreme southwestern point of mainland Italy, in the region of Calabria, looking towards the east coast of Sicily, at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:38|01|N|15|38|E||| | |name= }}. Anciently, a promontory of Bruttium, it was in consequence of its location generally regarded as the termination of the chain of the Apennines. Pliny tells us it was 12 miles from Rhegium. The whiteness of the rocks composing this headland gave origin to the ancient name.
