Pella, Jordan

Pella (known in Arabic as Tabaqat Fahl) is a village and the site of ancient ruins in northwestern Jordan. It is half an hour by car from Irbid, in the north of the country. Pella is located in the Jordan valley some 130 km north of Amman, and the site has been continuously occupied since Neolithic times. First mentioned in the 19th century BC in Egyptian inscriptions, its name was Hellenised to Pella, perhaps to honour Alexander the Great's birthplace.

Masil al-Jizl

Masil al-Jizl was a Palestinian Arab village in the District of Baysan. It was depopulated by the Israel Defence Force during the Arab-Israeli War. It was attacked on May 31, 1948 as part of Operation Gideon. In 1931 it had a population of 197, by 1948 this had declined to 116. 47 houses were located in the village before it was depopulated.

Kfar Ruppin

Kfar Ruppin is a kibbutz in the Beit She'an Valley about 5 km southeast of Beit She'an in northern Israel. A member of the Kibbutz Movement, it falls under the jurisdiction of Valley of Springs Regional Council. In 2006, the population was 450.

Jordan River Crossing
